The Póvoa-style francesinha
The poveira is defined by its bread: a loaf made specially for it, somewhere between a baguette and a hot-dog bun, born in Póvoa in 1962 so it could be eaten standing, by hand. That's the one we serve at €4.50. Prefer it plated, with fries and sauce? We have that too — in pão alentejano bread, the way the house likes it.
